As an artist I love to travel around and see the amazing scenery this planet has to show us. I am always inspired and excited after a trip to try and capture what I have seen on to canvas and to make it as life like as I can, so that I feel transported back to that original moment. My favourite scenes are water scenes, and blues and purples are the colours I like the most. I choose what I am about to paint according to my mood, then the colours of the scene and lastly the subject matter and composition.
I am based in Auckland, New Zealand, and all my paintings are from places I have visited while away with my family. They have been very supportive of my art even if it meant driving many kilometres to go and see something they were not interested in, or walking a track they had never heard of.
Initially, I started painting with water colours, then tried my hand at acrylics. I realised this medium was more suitable for me and my style of painting. I keep challenging myself with varied subjects, so now every spare moment I have, is spent painting and planning what I will paint next.
We have tried to take photos that are a good representation of the paintings however colours may vary slightly when viewed with the eye compared to a computer screen or device.
